BATHYMETRIC CHART OF THE AZORE PLATEAU
The Azore Plateau as seen from depths of 2000-4000m: fairly large potential "land mass" is seen at the 2000m contour and a larger one at the 3000m contour (an extremely large one covering almost the entire western half of map at 4000m). Also notice the drastic change in shape as one switches from one contour to another. (To the south and east smaller landmasses appear possible.) The westernmost shores of the continents of Europe and Africa are barely seen at the right edge of the map. Atlantis was said to be eleven days sail to the west of Gibraltar.
